Central Railroad of New Jersey
Car #21449
At this point, as the car was being lifted, one of the cables broke and the box car crashed down. One end landed back on its truck, but the other end landed on an angle on the edge of its truck, bending and twisting the frame of the box car. The car was considerably damaged in the fall.

The rigging was replaced with heavier cables and the move continued. The car was placed on the flat bed truck, its trucks were placed on another truck and they were then moved to the Phillipsburg Railroad Historians site. There the process was reversed and the car was placed on the track at PRRH.

Since then, the ARHS has painted and relettered the car. The frame is still bent.
