Photo #066: Looking west as a local pushes 3 hoppers up ramp to concrete coal bunkers on Pine Alley. The coal is dumped into the bunkers from the top, then trucks back under the bunkers on Pine Alley and they are then loaded with coal. Bunkers were constructed in 1911 and remain as of 2011 (one hundred years later). Near the top of this incline was a chute that transferred coal from hopper to hopper via another track that was behind this incline out of view. Remnants of this chute also remain as of 2011. On the right coal tipples extend over CNJ main line. Our enginehouse is located approximatly where this switch is.
