PRRH Lehigh Valley 43 Photo #43: Here is a look at the Lehigh Valley bookkeeping; the LVRR 1146 is listed on the books as being rebuilt from the LVRR 623 in November 1917. The 623 was a 2-8-0 type and the 1146 was a 4-6-0 with no parts that the two had in common except maybe things like headlights. This was done to get tax breaks. At this point a note about the 623, this was a “Consolidation”, the first 2-8-0 built and the records list it out of service June 30 1917. Here is the photo of the 1146.
