PRRH Lehigh Valley 76 Photo #76: The late John Brill, fireman and engineer on the Lehigh Valley for 50 years, told me this story. He was fireman on the Hazleton to Lehighton passenger train. They had been using the 2017 which had an old type of stoker that would screw up. The 2017 needed work so they gave them the 2030 and it had a newer stoker. John Brill talked them into keeping the 2030. We see the 2030 at Weatherly and the man we see on the tender is John Brill. The 2017 ended up being made into a snowplow.
