Photo #30: Here's an interesting photo from a B&W negative, a Pennsy GP9-B unit.
The PRR thought they wanted to run Geeps like F units, A-B-B-A. They realized later that having no cab made it less flexible as it must always follow and not lead. PRR had about 30 cabless units.
Notice the pie dish window, which swung open. Hostler controls, so that the engine could be moved in the yard on it's own, were simply a throttle and air lever.
