Photo #58: A Pennyslvania Railroad freight train, (possibly heading south on the Bel-Del line?) with lead unit in Penn Central black.
The locomotive is PC's ALCO RS-11 7654 (ex-PRR 7654, nee-PRR 8654).
Conveyed to Conrail in 1976, the unit emerged from the Juniata Locomotive Shop in 1979, with it's cab and hood chopped off, as a motor trailer [MT-4] and numbered as Conrail 1007.
In 1995, phasing out of the GP10s meant the end for the four-axle slug fleet, with 19 of the 24 units retired that October, 1007 among those retired.
The surviving units were mated to SD38s and assigned to hump yard service.
