Photo #97: Loading car with dump bucket made many trips up and down the incline to fill the tower. As the buggy approached the top, it opened a cover by pushing on two cover extensions protruding to the right. The cover excluded rain. Black corrugated building on right is the sand house at ground level. Sand storage boxes were attached to the north and south ends of the coaling station. Note wooden trestle for transferring coal from bad order coal hoppers in the background. It was seldom used. This is a rare picture of a hopper on this trestle. - Carl
